Modmotif’s fall couture collection is this season’s answer to summer heat. The 4th EP has two original stand out pieces spectacularly fashioned by Techno veteran Nicolaon. The title track “Freeleur” o ers a plunging bassline and velvety sub bass highlighting the sharp lines of the snare. An unexpected, quirky drama occurs with the contrasting oaty, romantic sound design. The second number “To the Moon” pairs perfectly with the title track. The piece features a dry, textured percussion at its heart, while the perfectly curated melody and straight-cut vocal draws you in to an alluring, seductive vibe. A remix by label head Ansidis provides a not-so-prudish, attering number. Expect o -the- shoulder sounds with a rich variety of colors and tones that are both provocative and celestial. This EP demonstrates the staying power of clean, essential techno and the bold statements that this music can make.
